Equal Game Time
An optional feature to assist in guiding a user to achieving greater equity in playing time.
Equal Game Time (EGT) is a target threshold automatically calculated for the user.
EGT will be determined by the number of players participating in a game and the number of players on the bench.
Example:
- 21 players available for a 15-a-side game
- 4 x 10min quarters (40mins playing time)
- EGT = 71%
- 15/21 = 71.4
- 71.4% of 40mins = approx. 28mins playing time)
The app will assist in guiding the user to achieve the target of each player receiving equal game time.
The app will employ a tool called the status indicator on the player cards to assist in achieving EGT for all players.
Status Indicator/Health Bar:
An in-app feature which will appear on a player card when alerts are activated.
The health bar will alert users as to where a player is at in regard to a particular threshold they have set (e.g. EGT).
- The health bar will move to the right and gradually change to the colour green (when a player is on the field) as the player approaches the time required to reach the EGT threshold.
- The health bar will move to the left and change to the colour red (when a player is on the bench) as the player moves away from the time required to reach the EGT threshold.
When a player achieves EGT, the dot on the right hand side of the player card will become green.
EGT during a game:
For details on how to setup EGT during a game, refer to the following article:
The alerts for EGT will change dynamically based on the time remaining in a match, compared to the time required by the player to reach the threshold.
EGT will change dynamically if a player is a late arrival or an early departure.
Status indicator on the bottom of a player card and on the right hand side in the form of a dot.
EGT can also be seen in the context of the whole team via a drop down modal on the right hand side of the game screen.
